Happy Birthday Smith William!

Three years ago today, my world changed forever.  I went into the hospital for my scheduled c-section not knowing if the sweet baby inside was a boy or a girl.  At the time, I had a 16 month old girl, so I thought I wanted another girl.  A boy would have been fine but I knew girls...a girl would be the better choice, right?  Wrong.  Oh, I was so wrong.

This little man changed my life within seconds of seeing his sweet face.  I needed a boy.  I was meant to be a mom to a boy.  I adore my boy.  I am blessed beyond words to be the mom to this boy.

My road to mommyhood was hard and long.  I always prayed for God to just please give me one baby.  Just one.  And then I got two.  Kensington was my blessing but Smith was God's ultimate icing on the cake.  I love the scripture Ephesians 3:20, "God can do anything you know-far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams."

I asked for Kensington.  I prayed and prayed and begged God for Kensington.  And he answered that prayer (not in my time but in His).  However, I didn't ask for Smith.  God just blessed me with him.  He knew what I needed when I didn't even know to ask for it.

January 18, 2013, my boy is three today.  I love his big blue eyes, his dimples, the fact that he sleeps a lot :) and most of all, his sweet spirit.  Happy Birthday Smith William.  I'm so grateful God knew I needed you.
