March Pin-spired!

I am so excited about today's post!  I love all seasons and I especially love the change in seasons...and today feels like the beginning of a new season.  I know, I know, many of you won't be out of "winter" for 6 or 8 more weeks...but you know it's approaching.   And spring...spring is just so refreshing.  Love, love, love it!

I feel like I need to make a few disclaimers today before we start...
1. I think we can all agree that I need a full length mirror.  Sigh.  Twelve months ago when we moved into the rent house to build our new house, I was too lazy/cheap/lazy to buy a full length mirror...but I think we can all agree that was dumb.  We will be in the new house very soon, so now is not the time to buy one (I can wait until we're moved in)...but I want you to know that I'm aware that my pictures could really stand to use a full length mirror.  I blame my laziness.  And cheapness.

2. We have begun packing a portion of our house, so that lovely clutter you see behind me in all of the pictures once was our nice dining room, but now, it's storage until we move.  Sigh (again).  Let's all just pretend it's not back there.  Deal?

So...this month, I decided to just photograph what I was wearing almost every day and see if I didn't notice a trend or two.  All month long, I snapped photos of myself and then yesterday, I sat down to see what was trending on my phone...and you know what, it was a lot of great transitional pieces!

So, that's what we're talking about today!  Transitional pieces from winter to spring!

First up...military jackets...
I just love a military jacket.  It's the simplest thing to throw over whatever you're wearing.

For the last 6 months, Sheaffer and I have been scouring the market for the perfect edition to our closets.  We must have had two dozen conversations about the perfect one...always on the lookout...and then one day, I found one online and texted Sheaffer while she was literally in the dressing room trying it on.  It was meant to be.  We found the perfect one.  At the same time.  True love.

When I went back over my month's worth of pictures...I found myself in mine five times...
...I was kind of surprised that I wore it that much!  I knew I loved it...but I must really, really love it to wear it five times in the two weeks that I had it!  Click here to see it.

And here is Sheaffer in it too.  We're both wearing smalls in these pictures.

Another transitional piece that I apparently wore all month long...leopard flats.

You know I'm not really a flat shoe kind of girl...but when the weather is too warm for my booties but too cold for my wedges, I need a good transitional shoe...and it's these leopard flats.

I bought these babies last August and they were my very first pair of flats to ever buy.  Ever.  In my entire life.  And they're still the only ones I have in my closet because they seem to go with everything that I don't feel like I need more.  Love these guys!  So comfy and always cute!  And look how Pinterest perfect they are...

Leopard flats are my new go-to for these Spring months.  Perfect for this transitional weather in spring or fall!

And then remember a few weeks ago when we all flipped out over Gap's lightweight sweaters?  People were emailing me like crazy telling me how they're the absolute best little sweater for transitional weather (and that they come in a variety of colors), so I went online and bought two.  Holy guacamole!  These babies are just perfect!
Look at me!  I'm wearing my weekday uniform...leopard shoes, Gap distressed jeans, tank, sweater and statement necklace.

Simple.

Easy.

Classic.

Done.

I've already worn and washed each sweater twice.  After I washed them, I let them lay flat and air dry.  I"m wearing a small in both of them.  Thank you to everyone who recommended this sweater to me!  I love them!!

Click below to find the exact items in both pictures:
Distressed Jeans
Solid Tanks
Striped Tanks
Sweaters
Necklace on right (necklace on left was a gift to me by my mom)

And right now, Gap is 35% off!  Promo Code TREAT!  And  40% off denim!  Promo Code DENIM!
All of the jeans I wear are the Always Skinny version.

That denim code is HUGE!  Gap rarely puts denim on sale!

And my last look for March?  A nice flowy top with distressed jeans.  I love this Pin-spired look!

I wore something similar when I spoke a few weeks ago at a MOPS event...

My Lush top is sold out (because it was from last season) but they have new spring colors in!  I really love this top!  I am wearing a small here.

These will look cute with jeans now and shorts later!  (I can already see it in my July Pin-spired post...)

And one more thing for this month...ladies, it's time to start praying worrying fretting crying thinking about swimsuit season.  I will once again do an entire post on swimsuits...after all, it is a Shade of Shay...but let's start preparing ourselves first.

Start looking around at your options because here's what we know...swimsuits go fast and they don't often restock.

It doesn't have to be a bikini (of course not!).  I just think this graphic is cute and fun and encourages us all to mix and match...which is always a good thing :).  Click here to start lookin'.

Don't forget, Mel and Sheaffer are doing Pin-spired today too!  Go check out both of those ladies too!

And for those of you who are linking up...just do that below!

It's such a fun month to be Pin-spired!

And the winner of our Rodan + Fields Giveaway is...
Kristen Mears!
Congratulations Kristen!  You have 30 days to claim your prize by emailing me at mixandmatchmama@yahoo.com.

And look at dinner tonight...yummy.  Really yummy Crunchy BBQ Brisket Tacos...and they're simple to make!

Happy Friday!!!
