On Thursday, Kensington had her Pre-K graduation. It just seems like yesterday that exactly one week before Smith was born, a very pregnant me and a very pregnant Erika took our baby girls for a preschool tour. We both had our hands full with babies and we both were about to give birth to second babies and we both thought a little preschool would do everyone some good...and now here we are four and half quick years later.
Other than our vacation in April, my kiddos haven't missed a single day of school this year, so I decided that after the graduation ceremony, we would have skip day! They were so excited! Since Tuesday is their last day of school, I knew that post-graduation, their teachers probably didn't have anything earth-shattering planned...so the three of us skipped and had Mommy, Kensington and Smith's Day of Fun (we say that any time the three of us do stuff...which is pretty much every single day...they chant it and it melts my heart!).
Erika and I let Smith and Nixon come to the graduation ceremony...watch out world...these two boys will be in Pre-K next year!
My sweet girl marching in and going to her seat. Each class was given a tee shirt to wear (she hated it) in a specific color. Her class' was orange (Smith was thrilled).
She's on the front row singing her class' special song :).
Filing in to get her diploma
Love my sweet girl!
With her very sweet teachers Mrs. Katie and Mrs. Tammy
And just like that, she graduated preschool. Look in the back of this picture...who graduated right next to her???
Ebby Lee!
Thanks to all three of us having S last names...Kensington and her two BFFs Ebby Lee and Molly all graduated in a row (Shull, Slaughter, Smith). Such sweet girls!
Miss Molly :)
After the ceremony, we went back to Kensington's class for a little dessert and picture taking. When I saw this on the wall in K's class I teared up. Kensington always, always, always says she wants to be a baker when she grows up...and it just makes my heart so happy because that is a direct result of the influence I have had on my daughter's life. God gave me this sweet little girl almost six years ago and I wake up every single morning and pray that I can just be the best mom I can be. I am not perfect. There are so many days when I get frustrated and say and/or do things that I shouldn't....but my prayer always is that the Lord enables me to do the very best I can.
Kensington's love for baking is from being with me in the kitchen...and it must be a positive experience for her because if it wasn't, she wouldn't want to be a baker when she grows up. I have always felt so honored and privileged that God has given me this child to raise and the fact that she wants to be a baker just gives me confirmation that so far, I've done a pretty good job...because this must mean she enjoys the time we spend together.
All smiles with daddy after graduation :)
We're always up for a selfie...
...these are my people.
After the little dessert in her class, I kidnapped my two and we left school around 11:00. First, we headed to the mall to make a few returns, eat lunch and check out the newly renovated and much anticipated Disney store, then we went to Target, Starbucks and the park. It was a great day with my two kiddos!
Next stop...kindergarten!
And guess what else is going on today...
