On the 6th Day of Christmas: We had a snow day and ate lots of yummy food!

On the 6th Day of Christmas, we had a snow day and ate lots of yummy food (and there is another giveaway...so, read everything!)!

OK...let's get something out there now before you start commenting...I understand that the Dallas version of a "snow day" and your version might be different.  I used to live in Detroit, remember?  I know snow.  I know real snow days...but when you live in a city that gets only a handful of icy snow days a year, we celebrate them!  Remember...we can get over 50 days of 100+ degree days a year ...we should totally be celebrating these snowy days!

Our elf helped us kick off this snowy day...
...my kids just loved this (and I loved it because it was pretty simple!).

Our little Snow Day was PERFECT!  Snow Days are usually really inconvenient...they're on a busy week day, I usually have some sort of doctor appointment scheduled, important errands, blah, blah, blah...they usually involve a lot of scrambling and such...but this one was perfection! We knew it was coming, so I grocery shopped and bought lots of goodies, it happened on a Thursday night/Friday, and we had nothing on the calendar.  All of the stars lined up!

Our snowy weather started Thursday afternoon, so after I picked the kids up from school, we headed home, changed into our comfy clothes, drank hot chocolate and watched Home Alone.  I just love this picture of my sweet boy!

On Friday morning, we woke up to snow!  The kids were so excited!

The 4 Shulls bundled up and headed outside for fun!

Some neighbor kids let us borrow their sled...so much fun!

The rent house sits on some beautiful property (it may contain a bunch of rats but it's pretty nonetheless!).  We walked out our backyard and strolled through the paths and park.

After being outside, we needed to warm up...so, we went and got Starbucks!  First, we ran and checked on the new house...it was good!  Then, we hit the Starbucks drive-thru.  Bless those sweet baristas!

When we got home, I was starting a load of laundry when I walked out and saw this.  She cracks me up!  Her toes must have been cold!

We decided the best way to spend our afternoon was to watch Christmas movies and make cookies!

One of our favorite cookies are Peanut Butter-Chocolate No Bake Cookies, so that's what we whipped up!

Then, we watched more Christmas movies and had this for supper...
...my very favorite soup EVER!  My Sausage Corn Chowder will knock your slippers off!  I promise :).

Our days are usually pretty crazy...Andrew is up by 4:15, I'm up by 4:30, we work hard, run our kids around, do chores, run errands, laundry, work more, dishes, clean-up...you know, all of that stuff (plus, we're building a house and adopting a baby...both very demanding and time consuming projects!).  So, this day was extra special because we just relaxed...and sometimes, you just have to stop and do that.

Now...you want another giveaway?  I mean really girls, isn't this just so much fun?!?!  Sheaffer and I are having so much fun sharing our Christmas cheer (and goodies!) with all of you!  Today's giveaway is from one of my favorite boutiques!

I just love Milk & Honey!!  They have a great store and online boutique!

Make sure you enter the Rafflecopter below for a chance to win our $150 gift card.  Speaking of Milk & Honey...some of my gift ideas today come straight from it...

My favorite part about Milk & Honey Boutique...they're so affordable!  These scarves are a great deal, I love the gold clutch and tote and that hooded vest...it looks so cozy and warm!

And then, I went a little fur crazy.
(No animals were hurt in the making of these gift suggestions...but my Visa was incredibly abused.)

I found this and fell in love...

I was looking for something else but found the perfect winter vest for any little girl...the Cozy Vest...little girls and moms will both flip over this vest!  Just wait until you see Kensington in her vest!  I love!

And don't worry if your little girl is too big for the one above...I found others...I'm kind of obsessed now!

This one fits toddler through big girl sizes.  So stinkin' cute!

And then there is this deer spotted one...seriously.  Stop the cuteness!  A sweet little Bambi coat!

And then...I found this faux fur coat for women...and it's just $66 (which for outerwear is unheard of!).  Wouldn't that be fun on New Years Eve?!?!

I just can't stop myself...all of those plain tees we have...throw this furry vest over it!

And then, I found this cute coat that is now 50% off!  Outerwear under $40...YES!
That coat will make every boring old tee and pair of yoga pants you wear...special.

And now...a fun recipe for you!

I was craving some cheesecake...but who has time to fuss with that?!  So, I made these yummy cheesecake bites and oh my, they were so good!!  You will want to see this recipe!  Click here!
