Brooke and a Book...

Well, well, well...I had a busy Saturday, how about you?

First, we had our Saturday morning tradition of whole-wheat chocolate chip pancakes, then, Sheaffer and I had the privilege of meeting these awesome ladies...
...and then, I picked out light fixtures for the new house and ended the night with a double birthday party for my cousin Brooke and her hubby Austin.  It was such a great weekend!  (Especially, since the last 3 weekends consisted of us just boxing, packing and moving!)

Brooke and Austin (and their niece Paisley)...Brooke's birthday was Saturday and Austin's is tomorrow.

 Brandon and Casey

This is her look of disbelief when I told her she could not have jawbreakers...

Papa Jay and my boy

So...you probably figured out the Brooke part...but what about the book part???  Hmmm...it has to do with Big Mama's new book (the fabulous lady in the middle of the top picture!)...stay tuned and later this week, I'll let you know how you can win your own autographed copy.  It's the perfect book for a mom.

Have a great Monday!

Stella and Dot Giveaway!

Girls are the same no matter how old they are...

...Kensington attended a Princess Birthday Party last week where the girls were able to play dress-up, have their hair, nails and makeup done, and make jewelry...it was girly heaven!

Look at that gorgeous hair!  It was even dusted with glitter for extra pizzazz!

Kensington and Ebby Lee working on their pipe-cleaner jewelry.  Nothing's fancier than pipe-cleaner jewelry crafted by a four year old.

Getting her nails done (and yes, wearing her jewelry and a tiara...)

All the pretty princesses!

So...what's the equivalent to a Princess Party for grown women???

It's Stella and Dot!

I am totally obsessed with Stella and Dot!  I have multiple pairs of their earrings and loads of their bangles. And right now, I'm shopping for a few more pieces to complete my summer look.  And since I hate to shop alone...I thought you should shop with me!

I'm hosting an online party for Stella and Dot here.  Go ahead and look around...I know you'll be in love as much as I am.

Plus...a party isn't a party without something free, right?  I will also be giving away one of these bracelets to a lucky reader...

...I have one too!  Isn't it so fun?!  All you have to do to be eligible to win, is check out my Stella and Dot party here, then come back and leave me a comment on this post about what your favorite Stella and Dot piece is.  That's it!  This Friday, April 19, at the bottom of my Disney World post, I will announce the winner.  One entry per person please; contest ends at 4:30 AM CST on the 19th.

But even if you don't win the bracelet, you can still shop their other fabulous things...here are a few of my faves...

I have these earrings in both the turquoise and the green.  I always get complimented on them when I wear them!  They just make every outfit a bit more special.

This fun bracelet benefits Autism Awareness.  Such a fun bracelet for a very worthy cause!

And you know, I'm nothing if not a bangle girl.  I have a few of these bangles and love them all!

And a fun summer necklace is a necessity with short shorts and warm weather.  This seahorse makes me smile :).

Gosh!  I could post pictures all day long of things I love!  Go now and find something you love!  Don't forget to leave me a comment to enter to win a bracelet!

I love shopping with my girls!

XOXO

A day in the life of Kensington & Smith (and a winner is announced!)

On Monday morning, I woke up and thought it was the perfect day to do A Day in the Life of Kensington and Smith...because it was such an average day...a typical day...a great day.  I know one day, I'll look back and think these are the best days of my life.

Smith always wakes up first, right at 7:00.  I can hear his door open and close behind him and then he lies quietly in the hallway upstairs until I come up and carry him down.  I'm pretty sure he would lie there all day if I didn't go get him.  (It was really dark when I took this picture...he looks like he's throwing a tantrum but honestly, he's just lying there cuddled with his blanket!)

I took a pic of us as we walked down stairs together.

Smith said he wanted his breakfast at the gym that morning, so I gave him some milk and a few Shredded Wheat to hold him over while he watched Peppa Pig.

At 7:40, I went in to wake up this sleeping beauty.

Sweet girl

And then I carried her down the stairs (I don't even have to go to the gym!  I get my workout by carrying them up and down the stairs in the morning!)

K wanted breakfast at home, so I got her dressed and gave her a pancake with Nutella (her favorite!).  Sleeping Beauty's fairies accompanied her all day.

Then, we gathered up our stuff and headed out the door to the gym.  Kensington is packing her purse :).

This is how she gets up the stairs to the gym.

This is Smith's "I'm using my muscles to keep these doors open" face.

I got Smith situated with his breakfast in the gym's snack room and off I went to workout.

After the gym, we headed to the park with friends for lunch.

On our way home from the park, Andrew told me to drop Smith off at his office and he would take him to get a quick haircut.  Smith with his new do.

1:15...Smith is sound asleep.  I woke up him at 5:05.  This kid can SLEEP!  (But somehow, he still hates pooping in the potty...every kid has their strengths and weaknesses...)

I let Kensington play with ABC Mouse for 30 minutes before her nap.

I came downstairs and noticed that Kensington had left her princesses out to either guard the laundry room or say hello...

Kensington was up at 3:30, so we worked on our writing a bit...

...then had Popsicles.

Smith was up just in time to help me make dinner!  We made Spinach and Pesto Baked Tacos.

Kensington cleaned up her princesses before we ate (in a purse, of course!).

And taco time we had!

Then, we headed off for a walk.  The 4 of us love our evening walks!

Kensington walked ahead using her umbrella...she was blocking the sun...such a girl!

Next up, bath time!  Everyone got all squeaky clean and then watched Dancing With The Stars (they watched the first part until their bedtime).

Kensington went to sleep with Mulan.

And Smith went straight to sleep too.

I'm not kidding when I say...this boring old regular day...will one day be looked upon as the best days of my life.  I just love spending time with my kiddos.

After Tuesday's post, I had several people ask me what time the kids went to bed each night and what time we went to bed.  The kids go to bed at 8:00 and we go to bed around 10:30.  (Well, we get into bed at 10 and then I have to watch a Frasier before I fall asleep...so that puts it at 10:30.)  So, Andrew and I have a little over two hours of just us time each evening...that's really important to our relationship (we joke that brownies and the Real Housewives keep our marriage strong).  Would I like more than 6 hours of sleep a night?  Yes.  Am I willing to sleep more and accomplish less during my day?  No.  I don't mind getting only 6 hours of sleep because I love what I do when I'm awake...so, it's the right decision for me.

And finally...the big winner to my Vann & Liv plus Lovely Lace Leggings giveaway is...

 Krystin Carey!

Congratulations Krystin!  Your daughter Ramsey is going to look adorable in her new outfit!  Email me at mixandmatchmama@yahoo.com to claim your prize!

And once again, here is what Krystin won.  Don't forget, everyone else can shop these two sites as well for adorable dresses and leggings for the little girl in their life.

Over at the Mama's foodie blog today...I'm reviewing the Amazing Tomato. Sounds interesting, right?  Check it out!

Have a great weekend everyone!
